The first edition of the 24 Hours All-Terrain Race in the town of Fronteira took place in 1998. This is an endurance race that took on the character of a great national TT festival from a very early stage, and which has won over a loyal following.
The town of Fronteira, in the district of Portalegre, is famous for its spectacular landscapes, trails and terrain that are the perfect setting for this type of race.
This is a race that challenges its participants to traverse difficult trails, rocky terrain, rivers and dirt roads. The riders need a lot of skill, endurance and courage to face the various challenges of the course. They test the limits of the drivers and the vehicles they use.
In the first editions, it was Portuguese drivers who won the races. However, when foreign teams discovered this TT race, they began to be the ones to win some of the victories of recent years.
This is a very prestigious race at European level, which brings many visitors to the town of Fronteira, in the Alentejo. It’s a moment of great emotion, if it weren’t for the fact that this is an off-road endurance competition through the terrain of the town of Fronteira. It’s a race that attracts professional and amateur drivers, as well as motorsport enthusiasts looking for the thrill and adventure it offers.
This year, 2023, the 24 Hours All-Terrain race will be held from November 30 to December 3.
