Today we’re sharing the recipe for Bolo Podre de Beja.
𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗦:
- 80gr Sugar
- 130gr Wheat Flour
- 6 Eggs
- 125gr Honey
- Half an orange (zest and juice)
- 1 teaspoon fennel powder
- 75gr Melted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baker’s yeast
𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔ÇÃ𝗢:
Start by beating the six egg yolks with the honey, yeast, sugar, fennel, cinnamon, butter, zest and orange juice.
Then add the flour and stir until completely incorporated.
Beat the egg whites and add to the previous mixture, stirring from bottom to top.
Then grease a cake tin (with a hole in the center), sprinkle with flour and pour in the batter. Cover with aluminum foil, also greased with butter, and bake in a preheated oven at 200ºC for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove the foil and leave in the oven until golden brown or for another 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving.
