The Municipality of Estremoz organizes the 3rd edition of the Estremoz Fado Festival, considered one of the most relevant of its kind in Portugal and the largest in Alentejo, which, once again, will be under the artistic direction of Estremoz native José Gonçalez!

It will take place throughout the month of May and the beginning of June, in all parishes of this municipality, with the following schedule:

– Estremoz: May 5th, at 4pm, at FIAPE, in the Estremoz Fairs and Exhibitions Park, “Amateur Day” (registrations coming soon)

– S. Domingos de Ana Loura: May 8th, at 9pm, fado singer Nani Nadais

– Glória: May 9th, at 9pm, fado singer Maritina

– São Bento do Cortiço: May 10th, at 9pm, fado singer José Leal

– Évora Monte: May 17th, 9pm, fado singer José Geadas

– Veiros: May 18, 9pm, fado singer Silvino Sardo

– São Bento do Ameixial: May 24, 9pm, fado singer José Gonçalez

– São Lourenço de Mamporcão: May 29, 9pm, fado singer Pedro Calado

– Stª Vitória do Ameixial: May 30th, 9pm, fado singer João Caldeira

– Arcos: May 31st, at 9pm, fado singer Miguel Ramos

As headliners of this fantastic Festival, on May 11th, a magnificent concert by fado singer Carminho, currently nominated for an Oscar, will be presented at 10pm, at Largo Dom Dinis (next to the Torre de Menagem), through the film’s soundtrack. “Poor Creatures”. The concert will be preceded by a tribute to José Sousa, by the fado singers of Estremoz.

On May 25th, the incomparable fado singer Ricardo Ribeiro, next to Portas de St. ª Catarina, at 10pm, will perform a concert in Estremoz that will certainly remain in everyone’s memory.

Finally, at 10pm on June 1st, at Lago do Gadanha, we will have a record-breaking television program in Portugal, presented by José Gonçalez – “Em Casa d’Amália” – in which many surprises from around the world will be revealed. of fado to the entire audience. Truly not to be missed!

The shows in the parishes will feature Manuel Vaz Silva, José Geadas and Miguel Ramos on guitar, as well as an associated popular party, with the aim of the municipality of Estremoz, associated with local councils, to energize the villages and towns, and offer the best of our country in terms of the song, which is an intangible heritage of Humanity.

All shows will have free entry, and the Estremoz Fado Festival will have Antena 1 as media partners and the support of RTP.
