On the 4th, 5th and 6th of October, Marvão joins Badajoz, in Spain, to celebrate Al Mossassa and takes the public back to the 9th century, in a tribute to Islamic culture and Ibn Marúan, founder of both locations.

Unmissable attractions at this festival are music, street theater, belly dancing, workshops and taverns of all flavors, especially Islamic cuisine, teas and medicinal herbs. You can also see artisans working live and even take donkey rides and see the general parade, with musicians, oriental dancers, birds of prey and figures from the period.
