On January 19, 2025, Alvito and Viana do Alentejo celebrate the Restoration of the municipalities that occurred on January 13, 1899, with the 6th edition of the Viana-a-par-de-Alvito race.

The Municipal Council of Alvito, the Municipal Council of Viana do Alentejo, the Parish Council of Alvito, the Parish Council of Viana do Alentejo and the Parish Council of Vila Nova da Baronia, with the support of the Athletics Associations of Beja and from Évora, with the support of the Volunteer Firefighters and G.N.R. from Alvito and Viana do Alentejo, will hold another edition of the race, on the road between Viana do Alentejo and Alvito (passing through Vila Nova da Baronia).

The event is open to all athletes, federated and non-federated, who can participate representing communities, popular organizations, sports groups, schools and individually. Each athlete can only participate in their category.

The route is in a straight line, leaving from the CASTLE in Viana do Alentejo, passing through Vila Nova da Baronia for refueling and arriving at the CASTLE in Alvito.

For those who choose not to run, there is a walk starting in Vila Nova da Baronia.
