History of FIAPE

The Estremoz International Agro-Livestock Fair is one of the most popular fairs in the Alentejo region. The first edition was in 1987, this is a Fair that has lasted for more than 30 years, promoting not only agricultural and livestock activities but also the main companies and associations in the region.

This is a fair that every year has more than 3 hundred exhibitors, making it one of the most important fairs in the economic scenario of the Alentejo region.

It is common to see a lot of Spaniards at this fair, given the proximity to the Spanish border, with business from FIAPE taking place every year, making this event important not only for the inhabitants of Estremoz but for all national and international visitors.

Every year, the best Alentejo gastronomy is added to the economic aspects, a reason for a visit by inhabitants of neighboring municipalities and other national districts. With some similarities to FIAPE in Alentejo there is only Ovibeja, and in musical terms the Crato festival.

Music is also a major focus of FIAPE, hiring the best national artists every year, making FIAPE one of the national economic fairs with the best line-up.
