The Alentejo Walking Festival, promoted by the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, appears with the aim of boosting the plenitude of its network of walking routes, thus reinforcing Alentejo as a Walking Destination.

In close partnership with the municipalities of Alentejo, the Festival will take place between the 10th and 20th of October, promoting signposted walking routes in the territory.

In the first days of the Festival, the “Pedestrian Tours Tourism Conference” takes place (Montemor-o-Novo – 10 October), the organization of a Promotional Pedestrian Route with great participation (Arraiolos – 12 October) and also a walking tour in Cabrela (October 13) under the theme Literary Tourism.

The following weekend, on the 19th and 20th of October, the “TODO ALENTEJO A CAMINHAR” initiative takes place, with the organization of walks simultaneously throughout all municipalities in Alentejo.

With this new Festival, the Regional Tourism Entity of Alentejo and Ribatejo, intends to boost and promote Walking Tourism in Alentejo by enhancing the region’s walking routes, encouraging the discovery of the region’s rich biodiversity, culture and heritage, and providing experiences of well-being and connection with nature for participants.
