The Feira de São Mateus takes place annually in Parque da Piedade, in Elvas, during the month of September, together with the Festas do Senhor Jesus da Piedade.

This event of great socio-cultural and recreational importance not only promotes the region’s crafts, customs, traditions and gastronomy, but also boosts economic activity and tourism, reinforcing the cultural identity of the municipality of Elvas and the entire Alentejo.
