“The Carpet is on the Street”, one of the biggest events in Alentejo where the Arraiolos Carpet is “king”, the identity of this municipality and recognized throughout the world, is back in this Alentejo town in 2024.

“The Carpet is on the Street” aims to promote, safeguard, disseminate and make known the “knowledge and know-how”, which in a region, people knew or were able to express, is a necessary and indispensable added value to any and all process of integrated development, whatever its scope (local, regional, national).

It integrates a set of cultural activities, including Crafts, Historical Recreation, Shows and Exhibitions, as well as the dissemination of Local Products, with special emphasis on the “Arraiolos Carpet Show” in the Historic Center of the Town.

The diversity of the Arraiolo and Alentejo identity, highlighted during the event, continues to focus on the appreciation of the most genuine crafts, “The Arraiolos Carpet”.
