Pinhoadas are a popular sweet from Alcácer do Sal, which were first presented and eaten at fairs and then became one of the region’s most typical sweets.
It is sold to passing travelers in various pastry shops in Alcácer, but it is also easy to prepare at home.
Today we’re sharing its recipe.
𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗦:
- 1 cup of honey
- 2 cups of pine nuts
𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔ÇÃ𝗢:
Start by bringing the honey to the boil. Add the pine nuts, stir and let the honey set slightly.
Pour the mixture onto a previously moistened and cold base and, with your hands also rinsed with cold water, beat the jam until you have a more or less even layer. This operation must be quick.
Then, using a knife heated in boiling water, cut the jam into strips.
Serve on a plate or on orange leaves.
