The Borba Winery

Adega de Borba was founded in 1955. Adega de Borba has managed to build a success story for winegrowers, consumers and, above all, for the region. It has become a benchmark for the way it creates products with excellent quality.

In the 18th century, wine production in Borba contributed to economic and social growth in the Alentejo region.

Since then, many events, both positive and negative, have marked the sector in the region.

The strength and resilience of those who are part of the Adega has brought innovation, boldness and courage, in order to actively contribute to the development of the region.

Adega de Borba cultivates around 2,220 hectares of vines, 70% red and 30% white. Its aim is to promote the reputation of the wines it produces, guaranteeing the quality and genuineness of its products.

As Adega de Borba grew, the facilities had to be expanded. In order to keep up with the needs of winegrowers and the market. The two wineries are distinguished by the modernization of their technology and equipment. With vats of different fermentation technologies and lagares.

Over the years, spaces have been developed to be dedicated to wine tourism. Like a tasting room, an auditorium with capacity for 60 people and a room for 150 people. With these spaces, Adega de Borba has created various offers for its visitors. From wine tastings to visits to the winery and the House Museum.

Adega de Borba also has a Wine Shop, where you can find various products produced by the winery, as well as a restaurant. It brings together the region’s most traditional dishes and the wines produced by Adega de Borba.
