The 5th edition of the Viana-a-Par-de-Alvito race will be held on January 14, 2024. A race that links the municipalities of Alvito and Viana do Alentejo.
Created to celebrate the Restoration of the municipalities of Alvito and Viana do Alentejo, which took place on January 13, 1899.
The race has the support of:
- Viana do Alentejo City Council
- Alvito City Council
- Alvito Parish Council
- Viana do Alentejo Parish Council
- Vila Nova da Baronia Parish Council
- Athletics Associations of Beja and Évora
- Alvito and Viana Volunteer Fire Brigade and GNR
The race is divided into several classes and all federated and non-federated athletes can take part. Representations of collectives, grassroots organizations, sports groups, schools or individual participants.
The 12.77-kilometre route links the Castles of Alvito and Viana do Alentejo. And it has a supply in Vila Nova da Baronia and ends at Viana Castle.
There is an 8.9 km walk, starting in Vila Nova da Baronia and finishing at Largo de São Luís in Viana do Alentejo.
Entries for the youth races can be made at www.fpacompeticoes.pt and from the junior level onwards at www.acorrer.pt until January 9, 2024.
